What Makes the R.I.S.E Program Unique?

The R.I.S.E. Program is built upon a sensory-intensive environment that provides children with frequent opportunities for movement, exploration, and active engagement within sensory gyms. Through these sensory-rich experiences, children develop self-regulation abilities for impulse control, attention, participation, social interaction, and school readiness skills. With the support of trained Developmental Specialist, Assistants and access to our multiple state-of-the-art sensory gyms, we offer a unique small-group experience that incorporates attention to the needs of each child. Parents are also an important part of the team!

The R.I.S.E. program is designed to complement a child's existing preschool, homeschool, childcare, educational, or therapeutic experiences by providing additional opportunities for sensory-rich exploration, movement, social engagement, and school readiness activities. It is not intended to replace preschool, homeschool, childcare, special education, or occupational therapy services.

The Science Behind the R.I.S.E. Experience

The R.I.S.E. Experience is grounded in sensory integration principles, which recognize the important relationship between sensory experiences and brain development, and participation in everyday activities. The co-founders of OT For Kidz, each with nearly 30 years of experience in pediatrics and sensory integration, designed this program based on research demonstrating the important role movement and sensory-rich experiences play in children's development. Therefore, sensory-rich activities are used to provide opportunities for children to develop the foundational abilities that support self-regulation including self-awareness, body awareness, impulse control, attention, social interaction, communication, and readiness for learning and participation in early childhood environments.
